V-Day!!!

Well I'm terrible at blogging these days but gosh this pregnancy is flying by! Yesterday marked an exciting milestone, V-day also known as viability day! It's comforting to know that Kelsey's life has worth to others at this point and that god forbid if pre-term labor started they would do everything to save her and that she has a fighting chance at life. It probably seems morbid to some to dwell on these facts but unfortunately I've seen far too many pregnancy losses and pre-term babies being part of a loss community. In happier news Kelsey is a STRONG baby girl, she has been moving in there for several weeks now(on a regular basis for a couple weeks actually) but on thursday I started for sure feeling kicks on the outside and Mark actually got to feel it too, his response was poking her back and saying Kelsey,Kelsey! His favorite thing to do as far as interacting with her is he loves to blow raspberries on my belly and giggle, he also delivers hugs and kisses to her via the belly as well. I have another check up tomorrow and then I get to schedule my next visit which is the yucky glucose test but I also will have a follow up ultrasound to check on my placenta previa(partial) and to hopefully get the last measurements we need of Kelsey's face, I will also double check to make sure she is still a girl lol.

It's a....

Healthy baby GIRL!!! We are so so excited and thrilled to say Mark is getting a little sister. Kelsey looks well measuring at 19w exactly and weighing about 10oz. I will have to have a repeat ultrasound due to my partial previa and Kelsey not being cooperative when they needed measurements. We almost thought we would have to stay team green bc Kelsey was sleeping with her legs crossed and nothing was getting her to wake up but last minute she uncrossed her legs and let us have a quick peek. She would not show her face at all though and kept it buried in her "placenta pillow".

16 Weeks!

16 weeks and this pregnancy is flying by! I had a check-up on Monday and it went well, blood pressure is great, only gained .4 of a pound(even though I devoured a pan of brownies the week before with Mark lol), baby's heart rate was great too. The Dr measured my fundal height and my uterus has already hit my belly button meaning I'm measuring about 20 weeks(so about 4 weeks ahead of schedule)!! That would explain I guess why I'm looking so much bigger this round, I haven't gained much weight so I know that's not the culprit and the ultrasounds at 6w5d and 8w4d both showed one baby measuring right on target so not likely to be twins unless we have a ninja on our hands lol. Next appt is on March 18 which will also be our anatomy scan, I'm so excited to know what this baby is I am slightly leaning Team Pink but no clue really. We do have a girl name solidly picked out and a tentative boy name(I just don't feel like it fits), with Mark we had the boy name off the bat and struggled to find a girl name that I felt fit.

Another milestone....

Well here I am finally in the second trimester and while I know there are never guarantees in pregnancy I feel like I can take a breath a relax a little. I am showing MUCH sooner with this baby, it kinda scares me of how I will look at the end if I'm already this big lol. I love being pregnant but this pregnancy is so different then my pregnancy with Mark. The morning sickness is still hovering around and I can literally count on one hand the amount of times I got sick with Mark, the migraines are back and much more intense but with all that said I wouldn't trade it for the world l will gladly take all of it for a take home baby.

12 weeks!!

Holy cow this pregnancy is flying by compared to my pregnancy with Mark! It could be due to the fact I'm insanely busy with a toddler who hates to sit still and with homework lol. I had a checkup Monday for 2.0 and he or she is a wild child like big brother, every time the dr would find the heartbeat on the doppler s/he would kick or hit and move away so it was basically playing tag. I've been using the doppler at home though so I knew it was all fine(first heard the heartbeat via doppler at 9w5d!). Dr confirmed my ute has already moved up out of the pelvic cavity so I guess it's not just bloat in my pics anymore! Next appt in 3 weeks and then I'll be scheduling my anatomy scan!!

Happy new year!!

I was looking back over the past year a few days ago and man was it quite the year full of ups and downs. We started the year so hopeful with a new pregnancy only to lose and here we are ending 2012 and entering another new year with another new pregnancy(so far so good with this one, I really think it's a for keeps baby). So many milestones for Mark as he continues to become less and less baby and more and more little boy.
We did have a slight scare over the weekend though with a small spotting episode but I had an extra ultrasound and appt today to check on 2.0 and I'm happy to say all is well, still measuring right on target and a nice heartbeat of 159. Here is another pic of 2.0 bc I love sharing pics of my little.
